Using an Assistant

Learn how you will hire assistants from the marketplace and use them in your workspace to get work done.

Step 1: Hire from the Marketplace

Before you can use an assistant, you will need to hire one from the BlueCoral marketplace. You will be able to browse available assistants, check their ratings and reviews, and hire the ones that fit your needs.

1

Browse Available Assistants

You will be able to explore the marketplace to find assistants that match your requirements. Each assistant will have a description, pricing, and user ratings.

2

Check Reviews and Ratings

You will be able to read reviews from other users to understand the assistant's capabilities and performance before hiring.

3

Hire and Add to Workspace

Once hired, the assistant will be added to your workspace where you will be able to start using it immediately.

Step 2: Use in Your Workspace

Once hired, assistants will appear in your workspace where you will be able to interact with them through chat. It will be like having a team of specialized workers ready to help with any task.

Shared Chat Interface

Your workspace will have one shared chat space where you will be able to call any of your hired assistants. You will simply mention which assistant you want to work with, and they will respond in the same conversation.

You will type your request and mention which assistant to use

The specified assistant will process and respond immediately

You will be able to switch between different assistants in the same conversation

Calling Different Assistants

In the same chat space, you will be able to call different assistants by mentioning their name or role. Each assistant will respond with their specialized knowledge and capabilities.

You will mention the assistant by name: "@MarketingBot, create a campaign"

You will be able to call by role: "Hey writer, help me with this content"

You will view all conversation history in one place

Assistants will be able to collaborate on complex tasks

Chat Commands

The workspace chat will support special commands to help you manage and interact with your assistants more efficiently.

Available Commands

/list agents

Will list all your hired assistants with their names, roles, and current status.

/list agents

/configure agent [name]

Will open the configuration panel for a specific assistant to adjust settings, parameters, or behavior.

/configure agent MarketingBot

Using Commands

You will type commands directly in the chat input

Commands will be case-sensitive and must start with "/"

You will be able to use tab completion for assistant names when available

Commands won't appear in conversation history

Communication Tips

Be Clear and Specific

The clearer your instructions, the better your assistant will be able to help you. You will need to be specific about what you want and provide context when needed.

Good: "Create a marketing plan for a new product launch"

Avoid: "Help me with stuff"

Iterate and Refine

You won't need to expect perfection on the first try. You will be able to use follow-up questions to refine and improve the results.

You will start with a basic request

You will ask for specific improvements

You will continue until you get what you need

Best Practices

Security and Privacy

You will need to avoid sharing sensitive information

You will be able to use private instances when possible

You will need to review data handling policies

You will need to be cautious with personal data

Performance Tips

You will be able to break complex tasks into smaller parts

You will need to use specific, actionable language

You will be able to provide context when needed

You will be able to save useful responses for reuse

Common Issues

Unclear or Incorrect Responses

You will need to try rephrasing your request with more specific details and context.

Instead of: "Help me with marketing"

Try: "Create a social media marketing strategy for a B2B software company targeting small businesses"

Assistant Not Understanding Context

You will need to provide relevant background information and reference previous parts of the conversation.

Reference previous conversations: "Referring to the marketing plan we discussed earlier..."

Provide background: "For my startup that sells productivity software..."
